True Rest Meditation – A guided meditation of self care to encourage a profound release of physical, mental and emotional tension.

Our expert teacher will guide you on a journey of dynamic sleep known as the practice of Yoga Nidra. Yogis will be guided to the “hypnagogic state”- the threshold between alpha and theta waves-the knives edge where the body “sleeps” while the mind is lucid. The practice of Yoga Nidra helps to activate the relaxation response and improve the function of your nervous and endocrine system, which affect your hormones. Cells regenerate and repair and help decrease anxiety and improve your mood. Studies show that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent to 2 to 3 hours of sleep. The body is still and warm and made fully comfortable by lying down, using bolsters, blocks and blankets to find complete relaxation and encourage deep rest in our beautifully lit studio.
